A visit to Subir Raha Oil Museum at ONGC, Dehradun

BBA Students visit to MuseumIndustry exposure is one of the regular features of the programs offered at UPES. In this regard, a visit to Subir Raha Oil Museum, ONGC, Dehradun was organized for students of BBA (Oil & Gas Marketing), IInd Semester this year. This visit provided perfect learning environment for these students to learn how oil is generated and trapped. The students learnt about drilling & refining of oil and also about the life in offshore locations through video films. Accompanied with their faculty Dr. Suresh Malodia, Course Coordinator, the students were very excited to know the details of this museum and found the visit fruitful.

Describing the Museum, a student shared the details about the museum. 
Inaugurated on 14th August 2005, the museum depicts various stages of oil and gas value chain. The museum has two floors; ground floor which depicts the search for oil and the history of oil. The first floor exhibits depict the journey of crude oil after it surfaces, and the arduous process till it enters every aspect of life as a refined product.
